My 960 3.0 litre auto will kickdown, but to get it to do so properly, and to accelerate at max, you have to stick your foot on the throttle so hard that you are actually compressing the carpet in the footwell. Is there any way of adjusting the kickdown so that it is just a bit easier to get it? At persent I have to put so much pressure on the pedal that I actually loose the kickdown on an upchange because I can't keep the pedal pressed hard enough!

Hi, Does your gearbox have the Winter, Sport and Economy (HA! Thats laughable!!) switches? If so have you tried kick-down in Sports mode? Is it the same?? If not then adjustment of the kick-down cable can be made... How is another question.. :) Couldn't see any mention of it in the FAQ either... Des. . . ;)

Hi Alec, A thought just came to my mind, the kick-down cable on my 940 was changed recently (couple of years ago as it was becoming frayed and catching... It is certainly worth a look to see both condition of cable and fixing for it, just in case.. Thanks to Roy for pointing out the pivot.. Must admit that I have a tendency to change all things related to an issue where possible as it helps get the cars back nearer it new condition... :) Des. . .;)
