A 75 264GL has just come up for sale close to me here in New Zealand. It has the B27 engine in it I don't know if it's carbed or fuel injected yet. I have heard that these engines had some trouble with oil flow though the heads. Can anyone give me any information about this and anything else to be aware of with these engines.

With that age of engine , it could suffer from worn camshafts and rockers , the liners may sink making it prone to head gasket problems , the oil pressure relief valve spring can break causing general low oil pressure especialy at idle also the cam chains and oil pump drive chain can give trouble , The exhaust manifold nuts/studs can come loose and break , the water hoses to the water pump can leak as they are hidden under the inlet manifold and never get looked at let alone changed .Finaly if the coolant has been neglected the blocks can corrode through .. Apart from that a great engine .

Thanks for that information. I have just found out it is fuel injected and it has 355000 kms on it. But engine was rebuilt 20000 kms ago might be worth a look at though.
